Getting there and back
Arrive with ease.
Participants are responsible for their own travel and associated expenses getting to Portugal. We highly recommend travel insurance so you are protected in the event of an emergency.
The Casa is roughly 45 minutes from Lisbon airport and is accessible by taxi or Uber. As we get closer we will create a Signal or WhatsApp group so participants can coordinate shared rides, etc.
We ask everyone to arrive at the Casa by 16:00 on Sunday 5 September. We will have an orientation and tour with the owners, and then a welcome practice before dinner. If you are arriving earlier in the day, we can arrange for you to store your luggage, change clothes, and explore Ericeira before our official kickoff.
The retreat will end by 11:00 on Friday 10 September, after which you can return to the airport for departure or continue your travels through Portugal. If you haven't been to Portugal before, or if you have and love it, this is a wonderful opportunity to arrive early or stay later to explore on your own. We are happy to offer suggestions.
A little more Portugal
A day away.
The Sintra day is our favourite kind of adventure — cool forests, painted palaces, and quiet cobbled lanes. A reminder that Portugal is as much fairy-tale hills as it is sunny afternoons in the garden.
